Jane Eyre...screening 672
or something like that. I just can't keep from watching this. If I'm cleaning, cooking, napping, writing, working, talking on the phone, whatever...odds are that I have the BBC's Jane Eyre on in the background. (It was my Christmas gift to myself--$14, thank you very much, Amazon--and it's probably the best thing I've done with $14 in a long time.) It's one of the better versions of this film--probably top 3 at least.
And I tell you, I am in love...love, love, love...with this version's Mr. Rochester. Good lord, there are some moments that just take my breath away and make me tingle all over.
So like any good film buff, I researched the actor on imdb and via google and found out that he has not only a respectable career, but has quite the pedigree too. (He's the son of Dame Maggie Smith.) Not surprising, really, since he is brilliant in this role. However, what did surprise me is the extent to which other people are in love with him.
I found the following videos on YouTube...I had no idea such fan devotion existed that would cause someone to splice together montages set to terrible pop songs just for fun. (My level of pathetic-ness is thankfully somewhat below that as I have only watched these and not created them...and I'm, um, linking to them here so that those with a desire for British eye candy may feast along with me.)
[By the way, I did know who he was and had seen him before, I just didn't recognize him as Rochester.]

OMG me too... I've watched that version of Jane Eyre at least 6 times now, and am ashamed to admit that I have done the ole 'watch, rewind, watch again' with a few of the scenes, especially the one where he proposes, and the one of the two of them by the river at the end.
Sigh... if only there was a Rochester floating around in my life.
oh i know, and the scene just after the bedroom fire in the dark when he puts the robe around her....gggrrrrrrrrr.
rewind, play, repeat.
